What an amazing night it was at the Gateshead Pride 5k Colour Run, it was FANTASTIC!!! Lucy and the team at Forestry England did a fab job hosting the event at Chopwell Woods. People came together in a running celebration and to get covered in coloured paint, it was SUPERB. Gateshead Mayor, Kath McCartney attended and was on hand to help give wrist pendants to runners as they finished.
The course around the beautiful Chopwell woods was scenic and beautiful to see. The paint stations spread around it added a little more colour to the proceedings. At the finish village stalls and games were available as well as some well deserved food vans.
Many locals volunteered to help direct the runners around the course. On this occasion they had the added “responsibility” of throwing paint powder all over the competitors.
All attendees, Forestry England staff, volunteers and special guests had an amazing time. It was my privilege to photograph this event for Forestry England, all the photos have been sent to them. Here’s a little taster below and you can always pop over to Your Photos to see more.
The Gateshead Pride 5k Colour Run was an amazing success and I hope they make this a yearly event, all who came had such a good time especially the ‘big kids’. Massive WELL DONE to all who attended and big shout out to Forestry England for organising such a fab event.
